Thanksgiving!
Oct. 5th, 2006 09:40 pmWell, my friends, it's Thanksgiving weekend, starting tomorrow. (In Canada anyways) and I have a few things that I'm thankful for that I'd like to share with you all!
1. My children, they may drive me nuts, but I love them.
2. My friends, always there when I need them, supportive of what I do, even when I'm fucking up and unconditional love givers! I am truly grateful!
3. My family, see #1.
4. I'm employed, have shelter and many frills that a lot of people in this world don't have. Thank you.
5. I'm free to think what I want, do what I want and live in a peaceful country. It's not perfect, but watching the news makes me extremely grateful to be Canadian.
6. God. Yes, I know it's surprising to some that the slash writer is a Christian who attends church regularly and even instructs at Sunday School, but to me, God is a rock to cling to, a shelter in storms and a true help in keeping me sane.
And of course, my friends on LJ. I've found a little niche I like to be in and you guys help me to be creative and enjoy other people's work as well. And of course I'm grateful that my Sammy (
lovehurts4ever)is back and is making a recovery from her operation. You had me worried, babe. We'll be plotting out new stories soon and having fun with our boys!!
LJ, especially my friends on
jakeslash and
brokebackslash have taught me how truly accepting and open people can be with each other and I think we're lucky to have such a warm and welcoming place to share our ideas and just vent to each other. Peace and love to you all!!
Now, I'm off to bed. I have a big day tomorrow, having friends over for supper, going to watch some 'Charlie Brown Thanksgiving' and rest up.
Cheers!
