Well, I have til Thursday and then it begins again. My 'real' job at Paterson, trying to foster learning in kids who have less than cheery dispositions and honestly seem like they're trying to drive me nuts sometimes. Oh, well. I just have to be calm, remember that it's not their fault they are this way, and keep smiling.
I was going to go in and help Richard set up the room, but he says to stay at home and relax so I will. I know there will be plenty for me to do on Thursday and Friday anyways, there always is setting up the class for a new year. So far, we have 10 full-time kids in Spec.Ed.
But we all know it will increase.
My boys are D and J this year, both have their own gifts. J can be very helpful and kind to the severely handi-capped boy in our class, M. D loves to learn about animals and has a menagerie at home. That being said, J is FAS, comes from a home where he was beaten by his father and step-father (who went to jail for it, then we he got out, he said he wouldn't live with J so J's mom took his brother and left J in foster care to go up north with asshole step-dad, nice eh?), and has been bounced from foster home to foster home. D is more stable, has some huge social problems, but that comes of having a Mom who is, let's see, what's a nice way of saying this, CRAZY AS A LOON!!!!
I've come to learn that most problems with these behavioural kids are the parents and home life. Environment is everything. Makes you sad to think what these kids could have been, and what they are.
Have gotten to Pt. 10 of Everything, my Jarhead sequel. It's going pretty well, I think. I have at least 3 devoted readers, that means alot. My Sammy (
lovehurts4ever) likes them though, so got to keep posting to keep her happy and up for her operation in a couple weeks.
Still trying to come up with a finale for Jake/Jared. So hard to imagine them 10 years from now.
pernille_is_me keeps posting these fine pics of Jake that just make your mouth water. Jake is SEX!!!
trekfan has also been posting some good stuff, filling in holes in the movie.
Bought a new pair of capris today at Garage and bought a shirt at Bliss on Saturday. That's it for the spending I think. I'm going to be broke. I had to go and buy wedding presents for my ex-brother in law/ex-boyfriend today from me and my ex-husband. (That sounds vaguely wrong, doesn't it?) Joe agreed that I should do the shopping because they'd get a Coleman lantern if it was up to him. So I spent $75 on stuff at Stokes. We're halfing it, but still, I just keep spending. No more though. Have bills and have stuff to do.
